Meet Your Farmers

Mark Garner married his high school best friend, Karen Hill in 2002.  Mark soon began talking to Karen about heritage foods and joined Slow Food, an international organization dedicated to preserving regional food heritage.  Karen grew to love the food that Mark produced from their  garden and the fresh eggs from the chickens that Mark brought to their home in Austin, TX - just 10 min from the state capitol building.

Over the years, the dream of producing good food grew until they bought 65 acres in rural northern Arkansas and began actually putting pen to paper, tractor to land, building fence, sowing seed, creating ponds and developing the infrastructure to make it all happen.  Their dream is called GarnerHill Farm.

The farm’s creed:  to move beyond organic practices with low impact methods, sustainable stewardship, responsible action, and humane treatment. They call themselves grass farmers - feeding the soil, establishing a natural grassland and nurturing the land.  Their livestock are the harvest of sunshine, soil, minerals, and grass.
